Rangers Farm Report: Games of Sunday 15 April
Box Scores

AAA: Round Rock 4, at Colorado Springs (MIL) 7 (7)
AAA: Round Rock 5, at Colorado Springs (MIL) 4 (7)
Record: 3-8, 6.5 GB

SP David Hurlbut: 3 IP, 4 H (1 HR), 3 R, 0 BB, 2 SO, 9.00 ERA
SP Tyler Wagner: 4.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 0 BB, 2 SO, 6.17 ERA
CF Jose Cardona: 3-8, HBP
LF Willie Calhoun: 2-6, 2 doubles, 2 walks
SS Hanser Alberto: 4-6

Willie Calhoun has reached seven times in the games to improve to .267/.313/.400. Calhoun admitted frustration in not making the 25-man roster and letting it affect his play when Round Rock's season began. RF Scott Heineman hit a 7th-inning two-run double in the opener. Nick Gardewine and RJ Alvarez protected a one-run lead across 2.1 innings to split the doubleheader.

Eleven games in, Round Rock has a negative 44 run differential and has allowed 29 more runs than any team in the eastern half of the league. That's... that's not good.

AA: Frisco 3, at Springfield (STL) 14
Record: 3-7, 4 GB

SP Brett Martin: 2.2 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 2 SO, 11.74 ERA
LF Hunter Cole: 2-3, walk

A tough day for everyone. 12 of 20 batters reached safely against Brett Martin, and Ryne Slack (4.1 IP, 3 R) and Joe Filomeno (1 IP, 4 R) likewise suffered in the cold.

Hunter Cole (the return for Sam Dyson) threw out a runner at home in addition to his offensive prowess. Just-activated Luis La O singled twice. The 26-year-old Cuban batted .292/.336/.399 for Down East last year.

High-A: at Down East 3,Myrtle Beach (CHC) 9
Record: 5-6, 2 GB

SP Walker Weickel: 3.2 IP, 5 H (1 HR), 7 R, 5 BB, 6 SO, 12.00 ERA
LF Ledarious Clark: 2-4, double, walk
C Alex Kowalczyk: 1-2, 3 walks

Walker Weickel walked 15 in 74 innings last year and never more than three in any game, so yesterday's wildness was unusual. Jairo Beras didn't allow a hit in 1.2 scoreless innings but walked three.

Low-A: wet

Two in June. The Carolina League managed to get in four of its five scheduled games, while the geographically overlapping Sally League was completely washed out. Odd.

Five Years Ago Yesterday
Joey Gallo homered, as did Jorge Alfaro. CJ Edwards whiffed six in five innigns in a 6-3 Hickory victory.

Today's Starters:
AAA: David Ledbetter
AA: Richelson Pena
High-A: Christian Torres
Low-A: Reid Anderson
