Rangers acquire Garko.

Texas claimed right-handed-hitting first baseman Ryan Garko off waivers from Seattle on Thursday.

The move likely means Garko will assume the bench job that non-roster corner infielder Matt Brown and optionable catcher-first baseman Max Ramirez were competing for, and should end speculation that the Rangers remained interested in Boston's Mike Lowell.
